I gave my last lot to the owner of a small concrete pump business, the rams that pump the concrete are lubricated by oil, and this is used up (it slowly ends up in the concrete that is being pumped), he took it all, and asked if I get any more, he'd take it.
Could be worth you calling some of them up?

Our local tip (sorry, recycling depot ) will take 10 litres free. Give your local one a call.

I use the local tip but it's a one hour return trip. They accept up to 10 litres but I usually take more. I have got most of the bits to make a waste oil burning heater for the garage. I need to machine up the burner which is a simple trough. I picked up a chimney off eBay for a tenner and the casing is a 60 litre oil drum. See Mother Earth: Waste Oil Heater

A good suggestion I got the other day was to thin it with diesel, put it into a garden sprayer and while out on runs, say during the lunch break, give the underside of the chassis and around the other bits that might go rusty, a bit of a spray with it.

That's what I 'm going to do with mine.

    Cheers

depending on the definition of suburbia, even then it may be good policy to make sure the neighbours have taken thier washing in before lighting the monster ?

On the contrary, I would say this is an irresponsible suggestion bordering on environmental vandalism. "Dumping" diesel and sump oil in the bush isn't a good idea. If you want rustproofing use fish oil or lanolin/lanotec.

AFAIK Racor stopped selling this setup for environmental/emissions reasons and injection system wear issues.

If you send it to recycling they will burn it in a cement kiln or some such and create CO2. If you put in on your fence posts or around retaining walls it will go to ground where it came from and you have saved emissions. Come Kev,s emission trading should be able to get some money for carbon banking!

Who said anything about dumping in the bush. Keep your hair on buddy. It is reusing the old gunk rather than dumping it at a refuse station.
