Mine is rear only and it is very good in sand.
With mine I had standard 10 spline center and axles so thought it best to also upgrade to 24 spline TT and 24 Axles. Which meant in turn I had to upgrade C.V's.
I explored the majority of upgrade options and ended up settling with the Ashcroft option. It turned out not to be a straight change over like originally thought. I have ended up having to also change stub axles and have them machined. So all up I've had the front end apart 3 times now.
The good thing about it is, I know that I can pull a C.V out in about 15 minutes.:p
For mud and sand work are fantastic and very gentle on the transmission.
For rocky groud I suggest to have a Detroit at the back and Truetrack at front.
I have a Truetrack diff at the back and Rovertrack axels on my RR 1988 and is very smooth and very good setup on slippering surface.
Just think what is going to be your application and select the combination to suit.
Cheers
I picked up the new stub axles on Monday. This is the second set. Because I need the car to get around I purchased a second hand set of what is already on there and had them machined. Neither myself or Iain at Rovacraft realised that the ones fitted to the early model disco were incorrect to fit the Ashcroft C.V's. So I have ended up having to change them to a different set. I'm just waiting to pick them up now from the machine shop.
Thanks for your help getting everything pulled apart and replaced the first time. If it wasn't for seeing you do it to begin with I would be really pulling my hair out now!!!
