I was once told Old Man Emu were a good shock but not in a Landy

I'm not sure whether this has changed with the new design.

Do you have any idea on price?

Don't know who told you that but there are 3 different shocks for the rear and 3 for the front(five if you count LTR and comp shocks), most problems from poor choice, OME's biggest selling shocks are Landrover shocks( on a worldwide basis).

I told that him Wortho, because I was talking about the common off the shelf Nitrochargers listed for 110's etc. I have thrown quite a few of these out over the years for gas and oil leaks and clunking internally some only months out of warranty and some WITHIN but the owners didn't want replacements of the same shock. They IMHO aren't up to it in a landy and warranty means zip if you are halfway up the Tanami rd...

And they can be rebuilt when they finally wear out for roughly the cost of a set of "ordinary" shocks, so any money spent on quality shocks is better than wasting money on inferior shocks, go for Bilstien or Koni, Regards Frank.

    Interesting thread.

I currently am running LTR's on mine, which when they work are really really good, but the rear ones have been a pain. I have pestered my local ARB and had one replaced under warranty, which then had to be resealed after about 6 weeks. It then did a cape trip before leaking again....

Just got a quote to rebuild the rear pair for $350

So I am now waiting on a delivery quote on a set of 14" travel Bilstein 7100 remote cannister shocks, which if the quote on shipping is reasonable I will buy. AK7112R04. This will mean a bit of re-engineering of mounts but probably worth it. They are also owner rebuildable which the LTR's dont seem to be.

Not sure what to do with the LTR's then. May put them on the stage 1!

Shipping quote from 1st supplier was $220 US

    Not too horrific.
