    Question Front Tailshaft splines... D2

    My tailshaft splines were jammed solid, I had to use some heat and put U bolts through the drive flanges attached to the Kangaroo jack!
    Got it all freed up but some of the plastic coating on the splines is stripped. It's not much play but I guess it will add to vibration. My question is - Can this plastic coating be replaced? If so by whom? I guess it is a cost saving measure re tolerances and probably does allow closer tolerances than by straight machining.
    If no repair is available, can you buy the splined section and TIG it on? Are they a matched pair? etc etc

    your easiest option will be a reco 2nd hand front shaft.
    the wont be machined as a pair.
