I too have been using a Watchdog for the last 6 months or so they are excellent.
Mine has the sensor mounted on the thermostat bolt and with the over temp alarm set at 88 degrees,
with heat soak the alarm will go off a little annoying but it usually shuts up in 30 seconds or so.
Haven't been through a Summer up here yet I suspect I will have to up the over temp buzzer threshold.
Well worth its money in my opinion

I got a little black box.
Has Low coolant alarm, block temp alarm, oil alarm, charge alarm and a couple of other options including auto shut down. I chose not to use the auto shut down.
The new EngineSaver/Tm-2 also has oil alarm (optional connect)

We run EMS unit here that originated in the aviation field.
It pretty much gives you everything:
Oil temp and pressure
Coolant temp and level
Head temp
Gearbox or transfer case temp
Battery Voltage or charge voltage rather
Egt's
Boost pressure
roll and pitch
Can't get any better and all sensors are VDO's

The main issue is the lack of 10mm bolts on the inlet manifold site of a Rover V8.
Maybe I should use the Rocker cover bolt??
