Engine overtemp alarm

I just installed the TM2 into my 300tdi. I wasnt sure were it would be best to bolt the heat sensor. I was too worried about undoing some random bolt, so I used one of the bolts that holds the bracket used to lift the head. Its the one just next to the thermostat housing, but its also in direct air flow which im not sure about. Is there a better spot?

Also I plugged the water sensor on the thermostat, not on the radiator (replacing the brass plug). Is this correct? I have a problem now when I have the ignition in and the low water alarm rings until I start the motor. I take it that the water level in the thermostat housing is low and once motor starts it fill up??

Can anyone please advise if I have done the right thing with these two sensors?

I fitted the unit today on the Defender Tdi300 .
I fitted the water level sensor on the plug at the top of the radiator.
The heat sensor is bolted on the rear engine lifting lug.
The system works very well without air and the sensor show the temperature on the shed 30c :eek:
The job is very easy.
I consumed 4 cans of beer because the weather was terrible. Lucky I have in the shed a 530 lts beer fridge ;)
