D1 V8 Vacuum Pipe End Connectors

Just fitted a new vacuum advance unit to my 1995 D1 3.9 V8. The two plastic/rubber? 90 degree elbows that connect the narrow vacuum pipe from the distributor to the top of the plenum chamber are split and need replacing. Cannot find a LR part number for these anywhere; Repco, Supercheap, etc don't stock any generic type. Does anyone know of a source for these elbows?

I don't have any elbows on mine, just a piece of vacuum hose, no sharp bends so don't see the need for elbows, only makes for more joins to leak, Regards Frank.

Nor me, just some tight fitting rubber fuel hose but clamped at each end & cable tie back the bend at the Vac Adv. as it comes quite close to the fan belt. If that lets go it could be ripped out.

Before I did it, I asked on here whether it needed resistance ( hence the fine tube) to iron out any pulsations. No-one seemed to know but it seems to have been ok for a couple of years.

I bought a new vac advance hose from Karcraft in silverwater the other week with both ends (around $10 i think, might have been less). Give them a call on 02 97379944.

The problem with the genuine part is that the hard tube pokes holes in the elbow as it's at 90o.

    Has it been improved?

Unless the '93 is different, vac hose straight onto the plenum tube. If you need elbows, just use any placcy tube that fits......

My 96 disco doesn't have the 90degree connectors either, just a small dia rubber hose from the vacuum advance unit to the plennum chamber and so far I haven't had a problem with that hose.
However, I do have a problem with the hoses splitting on the cruise control vacuum lines. only seem to last a few months before they split again. Maybe the rubber is just getting to old. Why do they position the connectors in such hard to get to places?

Thamks guys. I ended up buying a new pipe with the elbows fitted from the local Land Rover dealer (Solitaire) - cost $13.95. I was amazed that they had them on the shelf, and by the realtively cheap price.

    Oooh, the power of searching....

I know this is a 2 year old thread, but I have exactly the same problem as the OP - the 12 year old rubber boots on the ends of the pipe have perished and disintegrated, and the pipe itself has a kink in it.

Does anyone know the part number for this vacuum advance pipe (with the 90 degree rubber boots), so that I can try and order a replacement?

I've done a search of Microcat, and several LR parts suppliers websites and I've not managed to track one down.
