    Snorkel Airbox

    Hello from the USA!
I have a 1995 D90 NAS (North American Spec) with a 3.9L V8 and a Mantec Snorkel. I never liked the factory airbox location (behind the engine) I would like to relocated the airbox under the wing near the snorkel. Has anybody here done this? Did LR sell Defender90's or 110's with 3.9L engines in Australia?

    Cheers...

there was no v8 in 90's over here except for personal imports, all ours are diesel. the TD5 has the air box in the same place although its a different shape, square, and the inlet is from the other side.
with the v8's in the discoverys the airbox is in the front corner opposite to your ac compressor.

really you could move it to where ever you needed it.. there is deffinatly enough room under the wing for it.

    cheers phil

    welcome mate
Are 3.9L V8's favored over diesels in Australia? Here in the states, Defender owners dream of a diesel conversion (300TDI) to eliminate the ECU. Personally, I like the little V8...they are easly to work on. Plus a diesel conversion would cost about 2 times the amount of a new V8.

Anyway I glad to meet new Defender enthusiasts...

    Cheers...
