Not necessary to re-new valves if ok.
There are 2 ways for oil to get into the intercooler. One is leaking seals in the turbo. The other is the engine breather, which tees into the inlet line (between air cleaner and compressor).
Just a couple of quick questions. If replacing a head on 300 tdi should new valves be put in or will the old ones be OK if still in spec?
My inter cooler has also had a bit of oil blown into it not very much but enough to make it look grubby. Is it normal or should I have the Turbo looked at while its out of the truck?
Thanks

A little bit of oil in the intercooler is normal. Just flush it out with a solvent but be careful when you start the car back up for the first time.

Start it up with the top intercooler pipe removed, removes any left over solvent real quick!![]()
