wheel sensor fault + 3 amigoes

Well after doing a big trip around through the center of Aussie (more about that later) The lights have returned now after doing the tests and plugging in my rova com, The fault is in the right hand rear side.

But after checking with a multimeter the values are O.K. same as the right hand side with the sensors unplugged the resistance is 1.12 ohms same left and right next I checked the voltages from the ECU again it was the same both sides which was 4.96 Volts.

I suspect the problem may be in the plug itself, have tried cleaning it and bending the female side of the plug contacts so they grip the male pins tighter also the values from the rova com is as follows when driving the speeds all change except for the right hand rar that just sits on 1.7 km/h and the voltages for the three good wheels at rest sit around 2.7 volts the bad one reads Zero and if I unplug a good sensor it will also drop to Zero.

My next plan is to check the wiring circuit from the ecu to the sensor and see if there is a fault in the loom or plug.

Up Date on fault/ all fixed

Just a quick update, I checked the circuit from the ECU this checked out fine and was within spec's also the out put from the ECU was fine so figured that the sensor may still be crook and breaks down when a current is applied.

Multimeters can sometimes lead you astray why I sometimes measure current flow through a circuit, could'nt do it this time as my all my good tools are in storage waiting for the next job to start.

Anyway I took the plunge and bought a new sensor with the long wire going to the ECU when I pulled the old sensor out it had signs of damage to the outer casing where it slides into the housing and the only way that could have been damaged was from when I had either the detroit fitted (over 4 years ago) or had the diff ratio's changed (2 + years ago).
