    fuel leak TD5

    I have had my vehicle 2 weeks now and it has a fuel leak looks to be comming from the rear of the head on the drivers side I am guessing that its the fuel regulator. has any body done this before and is there any tricks to replacing the regulator (looks to be in a sod of a spot)

    Yep, It will probably be the fuel regulator block on the back off side of the head. It may be the gasket, but the blocks can fail aswell. gasket is a thin metal one.

    Here it is



    there are only 3 bolts holding it on, but it is a bit hard to get too on a d2.

    Here is the gasket



    When you take it off, there is a litle o'ring behind the gasket, and that holds in a little mesh filter. watch you dont those them.

    make up guide dowel bolts it makes life a lot simpler.

    Got mine done at a local independent LR place. It was about $450 all up AFAICR (couple of years ago).

    Pretty common problem on TD5s
