    Gear Box Filler Bolt

    G'day,

I'm getting the Disco ready for a drive across the Nullabor, so decided to change the oil in the Transfer Case and Gear Box.

Drained both with out a problem. Filled the Transfer Case up with out a problem. Went to undo the Filler Nut on the gear box and I cannot get it to budge.

I've read threw a few tips of removing stuck bolts, but there is no room for most of these ideas, just wondering if anyone has some tips that might be useful.

    TIA

    Dannie

    It's the LT77.

Unfortunately I will be leaving hopefully on the 19th to drive to Melbourne.

The most useful tip (not from me but from a useful site I found) is:

Never undo a drain plug until you have removed the corresponding filler plug first!

I know I'm not being helpful, but I couldn't resist.

True, I always heed that difflock.com advice.

Is it the normal square male plug? My old LT77 had a taper plug that could be hard to undo if it went too far in. I extended my open ender by using a lump of old pipe, then belted it with the head of a tomahawk.
