Discovery series 1 clutch slave cylinder
I have a problem with my clutch. I am slowly leaking clutch fluid and although it worked fine after bleeding the clutch yesterday it's right on the bottom limit before I can change gear comforatbly.
I think the salve cylinder is rooted and was going to try a repalcement this weekend. Does anyone know if the Td5 slave cylinder is the same as the Tdi ? I have a 93 Tdi and have been bitten before buying parts that don't fit.
I found this one on fleabay and wanted someone cleverer that men to advise me before I wasted my hard earned.
From the ad
Clutch slave cylinder which fits TD5 Discovery & Defender models from 1998 to 2004.
Part number FTC5202
Thanks
Martin

Depends on your VIN, but being an LT77 I highly doubt it.
AFAIK, only some 300Tdi's and all TD5's used that slave cyl. ie. R380 g/box, not your LT77.

Remember not to pull the slave pushrod out with the cylinder when you do it.
G'wan, ask me how I know.
I think it's something like undo the slave cylinder bolts, hold it in place, get someone to depress the clutch pedal while you hold onto the cylinder and push the cylinder off the pushrod.
There's a tutorial with pictures on LR4x4 tech archive
