CDL switch for the lt 95 is exactly what your after.
I am looking for a vacuum switch to operate an actuator off the vacuum system on the landrover.
I would use one of the ones that is also used for the difflock but i would like an off position if possible to minimise leaks.
The one maxidrive used to supply with their difflocks looks like a good unit. Anyone know where to get them?
I have trawled the net and can't seem to find much at all.
Just after a little vacuum switch that switches vacuum to one of two ports.
So I can make the ram push and pull. Don't care if the switch is push pull or rotate type.
Any suggestions?

Dan,
You need a directly actuated, manually operated pneumatic valve (indirectly operated uses pressure from the system to switch the valve over so will not work on vacuum).
If you are controlling an actuator and need an 'off' position a 5/3 centre closed valve will do the trick. These are available with lever operation, push-pull selectors etc.
In the centre (off) position the air lines to both sides of the cylinder will be shut so if there is any load on the actuator it may move. Have you checked that the vacuum creates enough force from the actuator?
Head down to your nearest pneumatic supplier and they should be able to help, just check that what they offer is rated for vacuum.
I work for a pneumatics company but our smallest directly actuated, manually operated 5/3 valves have 1/8" BSP ports and may be too large (depending where you are mounting it). If you need further info PM me with your email address & I'll send a .pdf showing the product and a 'mates rate' price.

LT95 CDL doesn't have an off posi, nor does Maxi switch, what exactly are you trying to achieve?
I realise that they don't do exactly what i am after but i used them as an example of what sort of switch i was after. I want the same function as those two switches but with an off position.LT95 CDL doesn't have an off posi, nor does Maxi switch, what exactly are you trying to achieve?
Gromit has given me pointers on what to ask for so i go looking again.
Cheers

Dan,
Thinking about the application you could also use 2off 3/2 normally closed valves to achieve the same thing.
Have attached details.

the 95 CDL switch if you balance it in the middle will put vac on both ports at once (my bad I missed the needs an off position)
what are you trying to do exactly?

Welll.. my winch is behind the cab and being a thomas has a lever to engage it. Now it is a bit hard to operate do to access but i can put my arm out the rear window. Thing is i am making a new tray that won't have that space and i thought a vacuum ram would solve the problem. Which is why i want the off as if it leaks a little it would be good to turn it off.

gotcha....
get the lt95 diff lock swithc and then goto your local pet shop and get an on/off valve for one of the larger aquarium air pumps. should do the job nicely.
the other option is the small nylon/teflon ball cock valves for retic systems, the 1/4 inch hose sized ones. should do what your after nicely. Although the size and throw of the pneumatic ram could be interesting to source. you might go better doing it electrically with a couple of stater motor solenoides.

Aquarium air taps, thats a good idea.
With the ram, I reckon i should be able to make one if i can't find one.
