Oil around the turbo on 300Tdi

Hi , Noticed oil all around the hoses where they clamp on the turbo on the 300 .motor. Cleaned it all up pulled hoses off and let run for a bit didn't seem to be a major leak anywhere, so would that be the turbo seals on the way out?, Do they let go all of a sudden or have i got a bit of time? wonder what this is gunna cost

Thanks & merry Xmas to all, although mine might not be

    Cheers Sumo

Yep they do that, nothing to worry about. The blowby hose from the engine is upstream from the turbo and contains oil vapour which condenses in the pipes after the turbo and will find any loose joints in the pipes to leak from. Don't worry, and have a good christmas.

    Leaks

Just an add on if you are leaking a small amount around the hoses you will also be losing a small amount of turbo boost. So good idea to check all the turbo hoses and it might be time to look at replacing hoses and clamps.
