Thread: 300tdi Aircon

Hey guys,

Just a question, I have a 97 Disco with a 300tdi and when I use the aircon it realy takes a lot of power out of the engine and drinks the fuel. Is this normal or is my compressor on the way out? Aircon works great.

My 97 Tdi automatic is the same, aircon makes the vehicle incredibly sluggish on take off, though I have not noticed any significant increase in fuel use.

On my old 200Tdi manual I didn't notice the aircon at all, maybe it had to do with different pulley sizes driving the A/C.
