    300 TDI Noise

Just recently I have developed a high pitch whirring sound which is not very loud when my 97 TDi Auto Discovery reaches around the the 2250 rpm mark , it's tone and speed increase and decrease with the rpm of the engine , now the obvious thing I can think of is may be the turbo is this normal or is something on the way out .
It only does this with the car in gear and driving , sat in neutral and revving the engine does not produce the sound .
It does appear to be coming from the left hand side under the bonnet somewhere but it's hard to tell when driving along......

Check none of the turbo hoses has a crack, get someone to rev it for you while you feel for air leaks around turbo hoses, don't need to rev to high, Regards Frank.
