I have front and rear diffs complete from a 2 door - am in Brisbane
Well, I did it again. Once more we came out of the bush on a tow rope.First the rear, then to make things even more fun also the front left us!
Good thing Jerry(D) was around to get us home, but now I'm hunting for a replacment diff (3.54:1), and a freewheeling hub!
Never thought about it how "lucky" I was every time I ONLY broke an axle... (I even had a spare with me...)
Anybody got any ideas where to pick up the missing pieces short of driving down to Gympie? Walter

Just to show yous how NON technikal I am... A have not got the faintest how a "2 door" may differ from my Ser3 SWB ex-ute ("ex", because someone made a hard-top out of it long time ago). My point is that this babies are so easy to play aroun with, that God only knows what you are driving, unless you are an EXPERT, or bought it new (and did all the alterations yourself!)
Like my "Alice" has 3.54:1 diff (And I only know that, because I counted the number of teeth an both cogs), that was supposedly belong only on coil-sprung models... (Therefore the 46:13)
Walter
Well someone else will have to clarify whether or not they will fit as I know nothing about series rovers

"2-door" what...? If it was a series it sounds like a ute, like mine. Unfortunatly that means it is a 4.7:1 (probably...)
Easy to check, turn the axle side 10 times and see how many times the shaft connection is turning.
What part of Brisbane are you? And how much are you asking, if it turns out what I need?
Hi!
I am running a thread at Technicals about dhis, but I thought I pop in here as well, after all "Alice" is a S3... More or less.
My probleme right now is "the less", namly the diff We broke last week-end, because THAT is NOT Series.
It is a 3.54:1, unfortunetly, because I have an other oldie in the back-yard, ready to cannibalise.
If anybody know of someone who has one handy, I would appriciate the help.

Hi!
I am running a thread on this in Technical as well, (and in Series 3 forum, because that is what I am driving) but my probleme starts with a question, that you guys could answer better.
The diff I broke last week-end, because THAT is NOT Series.
It is a 3.54:1, unfortunetly, because I have an other oldie in the back-yard, ready to cannibalise. Now this is the question: That is what all coil-sprung LRovers use, right?
If anybody know of someone who has one handy, I would appriciate the help.
Walter
correct the coilers generally run the 3.54:1 ratio diffs.
the leafers usually run the 4.7:1
both can be interchanged with a little axle tom foolery and the 4.11:1 is usually what people who want them changed will swap them to.
the leafer drivers cause they want a little more top end and the coiler drivers cause they want some more bottom end.
