Is your Avatar pic after the clutch master cylinder failed?, coz I reckon thats the problem. It is a common issue with deefers, even lateish ones like yours. The cylinder is actually a 3/4" bore trailer brake master cylinder, about $40 to $50 for a good quality one. LR want almost $200 for the same thing

were you able to find the problem ? i have got a brand new clutch and fly wheel and a rilly low friction point, i have the same problem with revers, on all the other cars iv had if you stop and put it into first gear then go reverse its sweet, but no joy, some times if it can be so bad ill just stop the engine put it in revers and restart. ..... not a fun trick. i have noticed that the master cylinder has no adjustment on my disco td5 but has 10mm free play at the shaft.

I really can’t say I know much about the new gearboxes but I know what killed mine. I was told the LT95 ran LS90 gear oil, I later found out this was not the case and I should have been running engine oil. Apparently this is a common misconception that leads to the early death of many lt95’s. After using the right oil it’s a lot easier to change gear. Maybe they put the wrong oil in last service? I find the best source of information usually comes from the service manual (RTFM we call it!), so it might be worth checking up on.
