There's a really good brake fluid comparison chart at the bottom of this page
    Brake Fluid
I'm just not 'puter savvy enough to replicate it.

I built an exhaust brake for my old Jackaroo. Definately makes a difference! This was a bit simple but it worked.

I was told above a butterfly valve that was fitted to the holden red engine (going from memory). This was some sort of cold start warm up thing I believe but it was a butterfly valve that was vacum operated.

To fit I had to file hole sizes etc but it fitted between the turbo and the exhaust just bolted in.

The control was quite simple I just got a vacum switch, a couple of micro switches (clutch and accelarator pedal) and an on/off switch for the cab.

With the brake turned "on" in the cab you needed to have your foot off of the clutch and accelerator pedal, if you touched them it cut out.

For ease I would personally be going to a truck wreckers and have a look at similar capacity isuzu's etc and see if you can't pick up a unit that is already more or less complete!

It isn't just overheating it is also the ability on long downhill stretches to be able to hold the speed limit without having to dab the brakes all the time

Hi there ive been in search for an exhuast brake for my 130 to help with hill decents and i came across this Gearing Dynamics centre differentials for Toyota Landcruisers fitting page. Also Greasable CV Joints, CV Boots, Exhaust Brakes, Air Suspension, Radiators, i have not reseach in to it alot yet as i have other issues with my 130 right now. But it looks very good and is made for the smaller engine. Hope this helps you out mate.

    Cheers Jye

Here is some information from the Isuzu 4BD1 manual, regarding the exhaust brake fitted to them.
