Can't remember what grease I used.
If you get into trouble in the Yass region send out an SOS and I may be able to provide assistance.
Gave my defender a once over befor the big i take it for a big trip from melbourne to newcastle. Up the hume, back along the coast... maybe some sand dunes.... maybe some mountains... anyway
Any was just greased the driveshafts with HTB, all the nipples took a good dose of grease with it coming out the bearings. A good result. After finishing up and having a beer i wondered if HTB is the right grease for the job.
Should i have used Moly grease, or some other grease
Are there any other grease nipples? apart from the 2 driveshafts? any on the steering? hubs?
Any feed back would be great. thank Mike

Mike I would be careful mixing grease. HTB grease is a Bentone (clay) base
grease. It will not mix with Lithium base grease They will seperate. Found out the hard way. $$$$$$$$$
Either grease is satisfactory in this application, and the incompatibility problem should not affect you if you got new grease coming out (a good move if it is a new vehicle to you and you don't know what was used previously).
There may be a grease nipple on the clutch pedal pivot shaft, but there should not be any others, although it is possible that some extras may have been fitted, for example non-original tie rod ends sometimes have them.

Check your rear A frame ball joint mine has a grease nipple on the top.
I use Castrol LMM grease in all my uni's, tie rod ends ect.Though I should use just LM grease the brown stuff as the manual says to use NLGI - 2 Multi-purpose Lithium based GREASE.
I havent had any problems using the LMM as it seems to be water resistant, just make sure if you do use it to clean up the excess as it makes a hell of a mess.
