Was it a Dakar-Bush rangie?.John Davies made them. Pat
HI everyone
I was at summernatts in january 2009 & saw a fiber glass convertible 4WD based on a range rover shassy & running gear even with the range rover dash! " parked in the general car park". All panels were replaced with fibre glass body work it was registered in NSW & the rego called it a Rover Convertible, was looking for a project & was impressed with the way this looked & even more based on a rover running gear. If anyone knows who sells the kits or where it may have been done can they please leave the information!
thanks..

The green one in the pic is an early one, you can tell as it doesn't have headlights in the 'glass body. Which makes it a copy of the Brtitish Dakar kit. If it isn't one.
Later ones have the headlights in the body.
I think there was about 40 of them made, on here Bush65 has one as does Zuffen. Another one up at Narrandra (Dave, you know who you are) and one (was?) at Narromine. Another bloke has one out in NW Sydney in bits. Was a blue one for sale at Bondi, dunno what happened to that.
Oh, and my one![]()
That green one is one of the first,I drove it at the 4WD show at Rosehill race course maybe 15 years ago.I'm not sure but I think it was later fitted with active air suspension and shown at a later show,or it could have been a white one, can't remember. Pat
Hey, i own that car in the picture...... well sort of. It was JDs own personal car, and he flipped it at nissan trials in the late 90s. He replaced the damaged fiberglass body with a new one, and i bought his old slightly damaged body and cage. I put it on my 110 defender chassis with a disco dash, but i havent got around to finishing it (wife, kids, house, rovers etc in the mean time). No i wont ever sell it.
