    Front End Squeak

    Gday

    Noticed it the other day.

When doing over about 50, and turning either left or right; there is a squeak similar to the noise brakes make. But a constant pitch and not quite as loud, seems to originate down by the front wheels. As soon as I straighten up it stops.

Is it possibly just something rubbing on the brake disc?

    Thanks

Probably pads, does the noise go away if you gently touch the brake pedal? If so, the wheel brgs may need a little tighten up to stop the disc rubbing against the pads when turning.

Should be OK, just jack up each front wheel and feel the endfloat and spin the wheel to listen for noises from the brgs, like rumbling etc. Apparently Alan replaced all the front wheel bearings etc before you bought the vehicle, and we couldn't feel any endfloat etc when we had a look last time...how many K's have you travelled since?

I've got the same problem on the disco seems to happen only after 10 min of driving once everything is up to temp and seems to come and go

Pulled the wheels off to check the pads, they looked fine to me.
no play or grinding in the wheel bearings. Don't know when they were last looked at so I'm wondering if it's a sign the bearings are low on grease and need to be repacked.

Anyway I'll be following the thread to find out what yours was
