    D1 Waterpump question.

Is it possible to remove and replace the waterpump on a 3.5 litre V8 D1 without removing the radiator?
If so, some tips would be appreciated.
(The workshop manual does actually state that the radiator needs to be removed) but it seems that the often like to complicate things, don't they?
    Thanks,
    Ani.

I never remove the radiator to do these. Once the shroud and the fan etc is removed there is plenty of room. One thing I will mention in a vehicle of this age is once the water pump is removed, refit the new one reasonably soon, IE don't leave the thing dismantled all night, as the timing cover gasket has a habit of leaking once it is all reassembled and that means the whole front of the engine must come off to replace a $12 gasket...

The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

I see what you mean... It certainly will make it a lot easier to simply change the pump over.
    Many thanks,
    Ani.
