The disco gets greased every second oil change,that includes the axle flanges and the defender is every oil change. Pat

In answer to the question "how often" my rueful response is "much more often than I used to".
Just had an admittedly old UJ on the front propshaft break at 90km/h at the transfer case end. Managed to bring the Landy to a halt before the loose prop beat its way through the driver's floor, which was an interesting experience.
I think replacing sagged front coils with King springs caused the joint to have to operate at an angle rather than almost straight, accelerating its demise.
At service (10,000km) and before/after a big touring trip.
I saw the aftermath of Chris's breakage - not pretty! The ally floor pan took a real beating from the flaying prop. Would have been even worse if it had let go at the front uni, imaging the prop digging into the ground at 90kmh! :eek::eek:
I was back at R*******t on Friday and Ian said you picked up a new prop - glad you got sorted. Don't forget to PM me if you want to come up here and use the shop press for changing your front bush's.

brfore each trip and after a couple of thousand ks if I dont go anywhere. Though I need to get a decent grease gun, my cheapie is ok but is the load by hand sort (messy)
