Door problem - another make
Hello from Brisbane.
My wife's normal mode of transport is a Volvo XC70 LE - OK, till recentlly they were sort of co-owned with LR, and are serviced in the same building usually.
Anyway, the good news relayed tonight over dinner is that the left hand rear door will not open from the outside. Does from the inside and also the RHS door in/out is OK. Used the electronic locking/unlocking key a few times and played around with the childproof locks switch on the dash - not sure why, as these usually disable the inside door locks and not the outside handles, but it made me feel like I was at least doing something ................
Anyone out there had similar experience and care to have a guess at what is going on.
It is still under warranty, but it costs me the best part of a day getting it to the dealer and back again. Plus I would feel like a bit of a goose if it turned out to be some sort of `human error' that was easily rectified with a touch of a thingammy or a prod of a doohickey etc.
Cheers,

My brother has a panel shop
I watched them have trouble with the rear door lock .... All the handle controls appear, from memory ... to be cable controls ... Same as a "brake line sleeve & wire" on a bicycle
The end connector broke off the internal control wire
You have to pull the door trim off to get to it
Under warranty??? .... It is the dealers problem .... nothing for you to do
