    I had Googled RIST thinking the poster might have meant something about the shape of the plug. I should have Googled RISTS.

    I've never heard of them before.

    Thanks for the info. That makes sense as it has a tow kit however the trailer light indicator on the dash has never worked and I thought they may have not used the Rover loom. Thanks for the help! Rovering

    The light should work whether the genuine socket is used or not. Is there a globe in there?

    Who ever fitted mine before I bought the car was an idiot!!! Everything is spliced not 15cm down from the plug!!!!!
