    Look for anything that may cause a restriction between the air inlet (snorkle?) and the inlet manifold. You may have to remove hoses to check inside properly.

    I doubt those high EGT's are all down to the BD chip - even though I don't have experience with the TD5 and BD chip.

    I'm not doubting phil's observation about high fuel at top end, but those temps are over the top compared to what I would expect from the development work that has been done.

    Egt's do go up greatly with a load on. The worst thing you can do is try and pull a load up a hill in too high a gear with the engine is labouring - ease off the pedal and grab a lower gear. This reduces the fuel and increases the air that the engine is pumping, and reduces the load on the engine.

    thanks for the info will have a look for any restriction including in the intercooler and air intake pipe.
