Has anyone yet fitted a transit engine to a Defender,Disco or RRC?

It seems to me that they would now be the cheapest and most practical fitment as a Defender sump could be fitted, and it should match right up to a 6 speed box and LT230.
I note that Allford in Victoria has VG 2.5 turbo diesels, which I assume are the Defender engine.
Seeing people have paid Gasp! $14000 for an imported International engine, you should get out of the whole thing under 10K.
