Td5 auto box shift pattern reprogram?

I have a 2004 Td5 Disco and am wondering (probably a stupid question) whether it is possible to have the shift pattern on the auto changed? I ask this because it changes at 20, 40, 50 and 80km/h. There's a big jump between 50 and 80 and the car revs a bit if you have to sit on a speed like 70k's.
I have the ECU upgrade and exhaust upgrade (courtesy of M.R. Automotive at Redcliffe, Qld) and absolutely love it. What would make it perfect would be if the 'box changed into overdrive around 65-70km/h. I've searched and searched, but can't find any one who seems to do it or any info on getting it done.

    Help!!!

    Cheers

    Hi,

I haven't fitted a compushift on a D2 or P38 to replace the factory auto ECU but I think it can be done,

you would need to reset the engine ECU and BCM to tell them it's a manual so they stop looking for the auto ECU and you will loose the position read out on the dash but this is no big deal,

Then you can fit the compushift and wire it with the factory throttle position sensor and programme as required,

You mentioned the engine was done by MR Automotive, Warren has also fitted a couple of Compushifts to TD5 Defenders so may take on this work if you want to try it,

I had a dealer reset my auto transmission so that it could re-learn my driving style. I don't think this changes the shift pattern much much it apparently does learn when to change according to you driving style.

I had it done at MLR in Melbourne.

Is this something D.I.Y by disconnecting the battery for a while or something?
Or does it need to be hooked up to a computer?

My gearbox on the V8 d2 with 145000klms can do some odd things, but is a bit slurry shifting into 2nd - has been for ages and seems to be worse after towing the boat (it shifts nice under load).
I use the 'sports' button to sharpen it up and its nearly changing how I want it to - but not quite.

Any genius' out there able to help?

    thanks

Might be a dumb question, but have you tried giving the auto box a filter & fluid change?

Mine was doing all sorts of things a bit weird, so I dropped the ATF & filter, and re-filled with Nulon Fully Synthetic. I left mine to drain for about 48 hours, and got nearly 7L out of it.

Might be an option and would probably be cheaper to start with rather than re-programming.

yeah, did that as soon as we got it 12 months ago and it was clean as a whistle - probably serviced not long before but I didnt trust it.
