There is a plastic panel in front of the passengers knees that looks like a service panel,but on mine there is just another bit of metal that does nothing unless i am missing something here. I hope i am my aircon man said i had a partially blocked tx valve and i didn,t have enough money to pay him to pull it out but if i pulled the panels off myself he would fix it,
I don't know if my model is different but all he took out was the service panel not any part of the dash. He said it took them less than two hours to replace the valves and some other thingamajig. The East Perth guys said they could do it in less time.
My dash is untouched I know this because none of the crap I have on it has moved a fraction and the spider webs are still intact but I haven't seen the spider I think the air con gases might have killed him. They only started doing it a 2-3pm Tuesday it was ready when I picked up as soon as they opened this morning (7:45am).
Sure I'll take a photo but don't expect me to be of any help with the mechanics I didn't do it myself I have no idea. I've taken the dash out myself but with mechanic supervision just in case I stuff it up. I takes me a long time but I don't break anything. The workshop manual tells you how but I don't touch the stuff underneath so don't ask me about that I can't even remove the sump plug:blush:

They are really nice @ east perth and seem to know what they are doing. The guys who did my aircon must know what they are doing too if it only took them 2 hours and everyone said it was so hard & all. The boss reckoned it was easy he said a lot of cars are much harder than landrovers- no mechanic has EVER said that before:o

That is what he showed me. In all honesty I didn't pay much attention I was just happy it worked & nothing was broken.

Local LR dealer says he has never had to replace one, and says it is an all day job involving removal of all the dash to get the heater/aircon unit out.

Does anybody have an accurate idea of how big a job it is to R&R the Tx valve on a D2?
I may have to take it to an auto aircon rather than a LR dealer if theye are more familiar with sorting such issues. (looks like a nightmare).

I was figuring on having to remove said valve myself (to save on gratuitous labour cost), however on leaving with auto electrician for another bitem and asking to check the air con and advise, he says it just needs a re-gas, and cannot find issue with Tx.
