    Air conditioning TX Valve

How hard is it to replace the TX valve & thermo elastic valve?
    and where are they located?
Are they accessible from the service panel inside the cabin or does the dash has to come out?

It is in a 1993 V.8i Discovery my manual is in the car with the mechanics so I can't check myself.
    Thanks for the assistance.

I've only ever changed an RRC one which is accessed through a panel in the scuttle.

Ladas had/has a Disco and should be able to help.

Well.....I was doing the air conditioning repairs and the mechanics told me they checked everything but in reality they only quoted the obvious stuff. Despite assuring me I'd 100% would have a working air con unit for the quoted price whilst fixing it they gave me a call to tell me about the "additional repairs" on the parts mentioned. I actually asked before they quoted me specifically if they checked the TX valve as that was 1 of the 3 things Dave mentioned to me when he looked at the Discovery. They said it was fine but now suddenly it wasn't so I was up for extra charges. I only paid for the parts ($55) which is fair enough.
GOOD NEWS: But I got it sorted all today; I told them I wasn't happy about it got a bit mad & I called the motor section of Consumer Protection who I think might of given them a kick in the butt. After that I talked to the big boss told him I was taking my car elsewhere; he apologized for what happened and offered to do all the extra labor for free.
So I'm very happy it is all sorted and for once someone did the right thing; it was a bad situation but the boss was really good about fixing that so what more can you ask for?
I took it to the East Perth guys to double check the work he said it all looks good and it is working well. He thought the compressor was a recon but after looking at the old one and the new one myself; I reckon they have just used back cover off the old one; maybe so the hoses would fit? The compressor it self is defiantly new I looked at it really carefully it has a small sticker with date of manufacture on it as 1/2009.
They are also giving me a 12 month warranty instead of 90 days.
Oh and I don’t know if mine is different then other models but there is a service panel built in the dash in front of the passenger seat. The TX valve & some other stuff is in there real easy to get to the boss showed it to me. I was highly concerned about them taking any part of the dash out as other than when I do it everyone else has broken bits of it or stuffed up the wiring. But the only used the service panel so it is all good.

It's common with Sanden compressors to have to swap around the service port housing on a new compressor to suit a particular application, fittings, etc.
