Mine turned out to be the temp sensor for the computer.
$22 plus postage frpm Land Vehicle Spares in NSW.

Now, see just above the oil filler, the shiny black plastic looking thing with the wire attached? that or very close to that is the temp sensor. Order one, look at it, replace the thing that looks the same in the region that I've indicated. Problem solved hopefully for minimum dollars.

mate would you or someone be able to point out exactly what you talking about ....would be very helpful

    cheers

mate i had EXACTLY the same problem with mine, i tried the MAF tutorial as shown in this http://www.aulro.com/afvb/1092934-post12.html and it fixed it quickly easily and cheaply, try these first they are not gaurenteed to be the problem but from my brief but in depth experience reading the rough idling post on this website (and there is thousands) this is a very common problem and fix, i urge you to do this first, i did it myself and i am a mechanical/eletrical moron, i implore try the tutorialif these 2 dont work then remove the stepper as that is commonly the 3rd problem/check then you would start looking at leads plugs rotor e.t.c

    Good Luck
    Ryan
