Td5 power loss cure (one of many possibilities)

For those that like to go places, and didn't know about the plastic fins built into your airbox, pre-filter, you would think you'd find this crap under your air filter, but no.......................

This is the second time I've had to do this so I thought I'd post some possible useful info.

The power loss is sudden when you start to rev a bit.

The first time I pulled out almost an ice-cream containerfull.

    That's unbelievable.

Don't suppose you found a family of possums in there too?

Is that accumulated thru parking under trees, or just normal driving? Got me a bit worried now...

Ahh, no. More like driving though trees. I should have mentioned I have a snorkel too, which as it's not turned sideways or backwards probably compounds the problem!!

Stop driving through jungles and you won't have this problem

I just cleaned my filter last night, just doing that made a big diference, while I did this I checked the hole and stuck my vacuum cleaner up there, also cleaned the MAF, which I do on a regular basis.

Remove the HiClone like device in there and you wont have that problem...

You'll be able to clean it from inside the airbox...

Surely not Tombie? If he removes a "Hyclone-like device", his fuel consumption will double at least, wont it? If fact, having a factory-fitted "Hyclone-like device", I'm quite surprised this vehicle doesn't actually generate excess diesel fuel in the tank...
