Thread: Loss of power -EGR valve problem??

Hi All,
The wife reported loss of power in 1999 Disco TD5 this afternoon. Max speed was 90km/hr on the flat. Problem went away on its own soon after, she did not stop or turn off the ignition.
Nanocom tells me the only fault was a logged "20-05 EGR valve stuck closed".
Would this fault cause a loss of power or "limp home mode"?
Any ideas most welcome.

I doubt the EGR fault would result in these issues. Loss of power would indicate turbo hose failure, MAF sensor short (the harness can rub on the block and give intermittent problems), boost modulator or even head issues.

Any other symptoms like smoke, dirty water in the resevoir, or any warning lights?
