Can anyone figure out what is going on here? I appear to have a non responsive boost that somehow has changed. I'm confused as to what is going on.
Td5, TRS Ecu, Standard intercooler.
TRS ECU installed. Found the way to increase boost as per AULRO instructions. Shortened rod 3 HALF turns which I then went for a drive only to have Limp mode kick in. Backed OFF 1 HALF turn and have not had limp mode since.
Purchase Nanocom. Hooked up and read readings which indicate a little short of maximum boost - 1.14 or thereabouts. According to AULRO information I should get to 1.25 or thereabout before limp mode.
So the chase begins...
I have shortened rod 6 HALF turnsand have very little change in boost readings. It will not kick into limp mode
Average reading of 1.19...
I then involked the hard switch method and disconnected the hose from the wastegate modulator. This made the change and the ECU was controlling the boost - Power on/power off. The Nanocom logged an error - Turbo Overboost BUT it did not go into LIMP MODE.
Reconnected wastegate modulator hose. Further shortened rod 1 HALF and a quarter TURN. It appears that this is it....the end of all my adjustability as the rod now has bottomed outat the exhaust end.
The boost levels are at absolute best 1.23 and it still will not go into LIMP mode.
Like I have said...confusion abound.....![]()
Here's what I reckon, we tried increasing the boost on my 01 D2 2yrs before, at the time I only had a chip and no other mods, it didn't work
Now just recently I had a larger intercooler fitted, after fitting it didn't seem to add any extra power or torque, so after some advice I turned the boost up by turning the wastegate adjustment by shorting the rod as I did ages before, now this time after only one turn I noticed an increase in power, so maybe the TD5 needs extra air flow for it to work.
Just a thought.
Baz.
Cheers Baz.
