    temp sender problem?

    Morning all
My temp gauge is playing up. On startup the needle flicks from zero to full then falls straight back to zero and wont budge. Is the sender likely to be faulty or has it got its wires crossed somewhere?

Probably help to know what type of Landrover, but assuming a Series 2a/3, the symptom suggests to me either a faulty voltage stabiliser or a faulty ignition switch - the accessory contact is making while starting but not after starting.
