    aaaargh bugger CDL

I am halfway through redback's excellent tutorial on fitting the CDL actuator on a disco II, at the part where you remove the front and left hand bolts on the spigot cover to fit the bracket......however the front bolt is incredibly stiff and is starting to round.
The real problem is it is the wife's daily transport and it is now about 10 pm western time and I am fresh out of ideas to get this bloody bolt out....anyone have any cunning plans

Spray with penetrene (ideal) or wd40( or crc or rp7) and wait 10 minutes. Also try giving it a light tap with a hammer ?

cheers fellas its been soaking in inox for about three hours, I think it is too rounded now to afford enough grip, I seem to have misplaced the vice grips which is where I was heading next, but there is no room down there to get much of an arc

Heat it up with a paint stripping blower?

Probably a bit late to go out and get a tin of ice in a can.

    Dear chap,

By your avator, I see you've been to the beach in your fine vehicle.

For your seized bolt, I would suggest using a liberal amount of Inox as it's rather good. Let it soak for a while then use a single hex socket on the bolt.

    Tally ho.

jolly good advice old fellow but I fear I may be rather past the point of no return with this one.
As soon as the retailers on the high street fling open their doors I shall sally forth in pursuit of a novel solution to this age old challenge eh what?

    Good Sir

When time serves you well, Perhaps you could put forward to a good friend, a request for the acquisition, or to kindly lend your good self, an appropriate "Hexagonal" socket.

You will be most pleased to find that the shape of the said socket, will be a most perfect match, to the shape and size of the stubborn and unfortunate bolt in question.

The shape of the bolt being rounded off, will be overpowered by the effect of the square edges of the acquired Hexagonal socket.

    Yours sincerely

    Mike
