Could also be the wastegate modulator.
Check to see that you have not got a sticky waste gate.
my 2001 disco td5 auto wont take anymore than half throttle, then starts to rapidly surge.Nanocom says turbo overcharging.Anyone know what causes a turbo to do this and or what sensor is involved???

My Dad's car (D2) did the same thing, turned out to be the hose to the wastegate modulator had dropped off as it had no clamp on it.

have removed and checked all turbo hoses.removed and cleaned map sensor.
wastegate hoses seem ok.Replaced air filter.Still surging realy bad???

can the wastegate modulator be bypassed.Have heard that defender doesnt have one.Where does the wastegate pipe on defender run to.?

bypassed the modulator now ruuning sweet again
