    Finish for Checker Plate

    Gday

Im just about to send my roof rack in to be powder coated.

But my question is; Ill have some checker plate that I'd like to have finished in black in the near future. eg Wingtops, door sills, bonnet protector and a sheet that goes on the rear door.

What is a realatively cheap finish to checker plate that will be hardy and wont reflect to much?

I was thinking powder coating but will that reflect the sun a bit to much on the wing tops?

What is the go with anodising?

Im after a matt black finish that is durable and wont easily chip, for an affordable price

(If there is such a thing )

    Thanks

ive sprayed the underside of my trailer with it and its holding up really well. the inside of the ute and underneath are getting a coating soon.

    Thanks for the replies

I just dropped the roof rack off and the fella suggested a powder coating which has a matt finish and is also slightly textured called 'Bass' so thats whats going on the roof rack. And the checker plate when I get it

    Don't forget the pics. Jock.

I have been interested in blackening by wing top protectors for a while now so let me know how you go.

Ill post up some pics of the roof rack next week. Friday I think its ready

Havent got the checker plate yet, but that won't be far off.

This is the only checker plate so far, and it'll be powdercoated with the other stuff

That textured finish is extremely durable, the bull bar on my last vehicle was finished in that & after 200,000kms not even any stone chips.
