    Which engine is best??

Hi everyone, just a quick question, which is the best engine to be had in a landrover? TD5, 200TDi, 300TDi, etc keeping in mind economy, servicing, parts, etc. Around town, towing 2t, off road etc. I know that this is a big ask as it really boils down to individuals preferences but I'm contemplating an engine change in the Silver Bullet series 1 disco manual as the V8 may need pulling down soon. Love the power of the V8 but not too keen on the fuel consumption. Thanks

They were found in 110 county's (the army uses them).
and lots have been put into rangies, not shore of disco's though
They are very reliable, great on fuel and with a turbo they pull very well (aparently)

Oh christ.... here we go again!

Personally, I think the 2.25 diesel. All of its torque is down low - about when the starter motor is in its sweet spot. Reliable as.

Thanks Tim, I would assumethat ir they were put into rangies, then they should be an easy fit also inth the Disco 1 as most rangie and disco 1 stuff is interchangeable?? What sort of fuel economy do they average compared to the 2.25? Is the 2.25 the 5cyl motor?
