    Interior lining

The interior lining on a car owned by an elderly friend is coming adrift as the glue is slowly letting go. This is only across the back above the rear window. It is easy to get at and appears I can reglue quite easily. My question is what is the best contact glue to use for this? Jim

It's the foam backing that has rotted ... U can pin it, or "Pin in some super glue" as a temp measure .. But basically it's gonna droop on ya head

Rip it out & get it re-upholsted

    Interior lining

The lining has come adrift from the hard backing across one edge. It is not sagging anywhere and there is no foam involved. Jim

Any contact glue will do but a spray type will be easier to use.

While this might work for a while, the rest of the lining will come away soon if it's glued too.

It's very unlikely that anything letting go other than the foam backing disintegrating. If it is starting to disintegrate all of it will soon go as well (12 months) do as Mike 90 RR suggests remove it and have it re-upholstered.

For a temporary fix use drawing or upholstery pins rather than any sort of glue. Glue patches can always be seen and are a nightmare for the motor trimmer who does the re-upholstery and therefore expensive for you.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
