Why do you want to go 35"s Pete? Look at the places my 33's took me, and with 35"s your 4wd will be boring as bat poo. I think your size (32") is perfect, allows you to go most places but you still have to use your head and pick the right lines.
But, I think regarless of body lift, you will still need to do the guard cut as the wheel arch is too narrow.

I have been thinking of a body lift in the disco, but i dont think i will go higher than 33's, already running 32's. The bigger you go the more leverage you have to bust stuff.
As for why it stops a 2 3/4's i dont know, the registration issue written above might play a part, not sure.
