Yes I'm thinking it might be a bearing too as it never free wheels, and either really kicks over perfectly or there is a horrid clash of gear teeth! As I said, ring gear looks ok, just "used" but nothing obvious, as does pinion. Maybe a bearing is the culprit... Any suspects?
And as its "just so easy" to trace nippon denso part numbers - even the company don't seem to be able to - anyone recommend a supplier who won't want the part in front of them?? In WA would be great but elsewhere fine.
