EGR Bypass - Half done ??

    Hi Guys,

I fitted my EGR Bypass kit today, and while the inlet side went without a hitch I ran into minor trouble with one of the allen screws in the Exhaust manifold being burred inside. (The 5mm Hex driver just spins in side it )

I decided today rather than battling it and ending up with an undrivable car.. I'd just do one side .. and then get teh right tools to fix the exhaust in the next few days.

My question to wiser heads: Am I likely to cause myself grief, by driving it in it's current state. (see pictures below)

The inlet side is complete as above - and I ghave blanked off the exhaust there.

The exhaust side is as per factory.. I put it back together as the highlighted screw will not budge and I didn't want to end up with something undrivable.

If I am going to cause myself grief.. I'd appreciate a heads up... ratyher than learning by experience !

The car seems to drive really well.....

    Cheers, Mark

    3 options.

    1. hammer in the next size up imperial fitting then undo with a ratchet
    2. off set the splines on the next size up torqz fitting and hammer that in and then undo with a ratchet
    3. use a stud puller once you make the room by pulling off other fruit.

so long as you have the exhaust fitting blanked at some point and the inlet complete your laughing for a little while at any rate.

Pretty easy job really - did the first part in under an hour - and half of the exhaust side ( then had to put it back ).

I only got stopped by this bolt - I didn't have something suitable with me to budge it - I'll get it sorted in the next few day.
