A mate had the A Frame mount snap off the rear diff housing on the weekend(84 Rangie 4 door).
Any thoughts WHY???
I was following him the day before on a beach and he was getting exsessive axle tramp. The suspension on the vehicle is badly worn and its not nice to drive at all.
Is this a common breakage??? Cant say I have heard of it before.I do have a pick I can upload later in the week if need be.
Thanks
Andrew

Most notice before they let go. The ball joint may have been stuffed or he drives it very hard off road. The my 89 top mount is stronger than my two pre 85 models. The earlier rangies were more prone to this for this reason. When I got my 1st 2 door I was told to weld plates and go mad with the mig. I still haven't done it yet![]()
just to add to this, i looked at the condition of both the 90 and the utes brackets, there both ''cast'' as one piece, well thats what it looks like? deffinatly welded to the diff case but not at the top like the other one that broke. maybe they beefed them up after 1990? they are also around the 8mm thick mark, the one in the photos looks like pressed tin
cheers phil
