Hi Mate . I used engine enamel on my front bar and it has copped a few knocks in the bush and the paint is still there . I had kill rust for starters but it was coming off . Roughly $14 for a spray can of engine enamel . I used a flat black

    Thanks Mick
That sounds like a good idea to me, engine enamel had crossed my mined
We used it on everything when we rebuilt the county even sprayed over wet surfaces and the paint still seems to be there

It's a pretty hardy paint when it will put up with extreme heat so it has to stick well . You could always paint it holden 186 red

kill rust! but not spray can crap. buy a 500ml tin and spray it your self, use a good zinc primer and put the kill rust on thick. do a first coat not to thick, let it tack off (bout 30min depending on how hot it is) then do a second coat over that. then do another coat the next day.

What about hammerite? I've never used it but it looks like it would be good for this application.

it looks good for the first 3 months then goes to poo... and you cant put it on thick and retain the hammer finish.
