    King springs, any good!

    Hi all,

Has anyone had any king springs, I need to replace the front coils to my defender and the king springs are quite a bit cheaper and free delivery, but are they any good

    thanks in advance

Are we talking new or S/H? The early ones seem a little firm for rated weight in my experience.

I have Kings in my Tdi. VERY firm ride which is great on the track out of town but means you loose some flex. Price the genuine ones too as you may find them very well priced.

King make a hell of a lot of aftermarket springs for a wide range of companies.

I have replaced my D1 springs with king springs and have found them to be good value. I am not an expert but they do the job for my liking.

I think they are the best value for money. The ride can be slightly firm, but I find them good in my Fender. As said there are a lot of springs made in the Kings factory for some very well known and less well known spring suppliers. I spoke to a suspension specialist in Perth a while back who rattled off some very suprising names.
I also think they are generally great value for money. Shop around as prices vary. I actually found Coventry's in WA to be the cheapest over here.

So is someone actually going to rattle off some of these names then? two people have now said that this is the case but no one is actaully giving the names of the other companies they supply

I had Lovell springs in my old 200 TDI which had a big Thomas Ramsey winch, weighed a ton. I asked Lovell to raise the vehicle an inch from standard and bias the drivers side and I wanted lineal rated.

I took it back three times as the springs sagged.

    Never again.

I've only heard good things about Kings and when I go again they certainly will be on my list
