TDi 300 wgt?? new long engine

Can anyone tell me the weight of a TDi 300 engine minus gearbox complete with all its ancilliary bits and pieces ? Need to do an engine swap and it seems to me might be easiest to just lift the whole thing out and pull everything off away from the car.
I have a new factory long motor to go in, Is there anything I should do before installing and starting up ? Does it need special running in oil or any preparation befor installing ?

    Tdi 200kg ish.
And yes, pulling it out is easier to do a swap.

As for precautions on startup - I'll let others chip in.

hi Dave, You know the history, We installed the new turbo and everything seemed fine. Ran it round the block a few times no problems. Mick took the trailer to the dump with it . Big knocking noise and engine stopped, wouldn't restart.
Rather than mess around rebuilding it now, I laid hands on a new factory long motor so we want to install that and swap the other bits over. I desperately need to get this thing mobile again. I'll check the old motor for rebuild potential later.

Langy, I think it might be a fair bit more than 200Kg, need to know if its more than 250Kg

I had an ex military 300tdi delivered in the land rover genuine parts crate this morning. It was complete including clutch and engine mounts but no alternator and it weighed 310kg in the crate. The crate was made of ply and 4x2 and will not weigh more than 30kg.

Sorry but have to brag, it is a 95 300tdi, has done 80ks new head gasket fitted and I paid $500. More than a bit pleased!
