    Tdi automatic NOT turning over

Just got the starter motor back from the Auto Leccie and have been informed that it's in perfect condition.
I have full battery power but there doesn't seem to be enough juice to turn the starter motor over- Almost like the engine doesn't want to turn over. I don;t think that is the case because on occasions this happens but after a while it will decide to turn over a fire up. has been doing this before and after timming belt change.
It's not totally dead but feels like it does half a turn then no more.
tried charging battery and jumper cables to another vehicle.
    It's a 1996 Tdi300 Automatic Disco
    What could be the problem????
    Cheers

it means you have liquid on top of one of the cylinders.

when the starter goes to turn it over it cant.

yep its likely to be expensive.

My bet is the trigger wire on the starter motor is loose/dirty!!!
Mate the small wire that slides on is the one to clean and ensure its tight.A bad contact here will not let the starter solenoid engage as it should,ESPECIALLY IN HOT CONDITIONS!!!

I'll give that a go tomorrow when i re-install it. Hopefully it is the case.
If this was the problem (bad connection) would make any attempt to turn the starter motor. Because when I do go to start it, it does have a very small attempt to turn but suddenly won't.
    Cheers for the advice...
